About

Selena Mercuri is a Toronto-based writer and publishing professional of Cuban and Italian background whose work appears in The Fiddlehead, The Literary Review of Canada, Prairie Fire, The Ampersand Review, The Seaboard Review, Herizons, Room Magazine, and other journals. She received the 2023 Norma Epstein Foundation Award for Creative Writing, and her fiction was longlisted for CaMel Journal‘s 2026 Gilmer Prize.

After earning her BA in Political Science from the University of Toronto, Selena studied Publishing at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she was awarded the 2025 Marsh Jeanneret Memorial Award. She is now an MFA candidate in Creative Writing at the University of Guelph.
